HOW IT HAPPENED

On the road, the Blazers were looking to make it two in a row as they took on Lesley. Jade Lewis (Orlando, FL) kicked off the scoring for the Blazers, which was followed by Rahmia Johnston (Trumbull, CT) and Julianne Lebow (Townshend, VT). These three players have been critical to the Blazers success early. Elms extended their lead midway through the first quarter, as their defense held strong, limiting Lesley from getting second chance points. Elms went on a little 8-0 run to end the first quarter, putting them up 18-10. Going into the second quarter, Talia Uribe (South HAdley, MA) continued to score for the Blazers, going on an 8-0 run of her own to put Elms up 22-10. Elms continued to extend their lead, and never looked back. A Sadie Hunt (Sandwich, MA) hit a three pointer late in the first half posissioning the Blazers with a comfotable lead of 37-18. Elms went into the half up 40-27.

Johnston and Brianna Metellus (Springfield, MA) scored for the Blazers for a good part of the third, as the veterans held up the offense end while Elms was going through a real drought. Lesley failed to take advantage of this, and another Lebow three pointer put the Blazers up 20. Jade Lewis and Soliyana Asfaw (West, Orange, NJ) contributed their own points, as Elms went into the fourth quarter up by 27. Elms continued their team play and great defense in the fourth, and beat Lesley 91-67.
