How it Happend

The Blazer Women kicked of the game putting up the first points with a layup and 3Pt- shot made by first year Kayla Jackson (Saugus, MA) within the first 2 minutes. Elms was leading the game for about half of the first quarter till the Albertus Falcons flipped the script. By the end of the first 10 minutes the Falcons had built up a lead of five points, 20-15; Julia Gettings (Bristol, CT) knocked down a 3Pt buzzer beater to put the Blazers at 15 points heading into the second. 

Early into the second the Blazers were able to turn the game into a one possesion difference after going on a 6-3 point run (23-21) in just 2 1/2 minutes of play. The Falcons lead shooting 44.4% from the field and hitting 50% from the 3Pt-line to grow a nine point lead over the Blazers by the end of the half. The Blazers continued to stay in the game with Jakcson adding 6 more points to the board as well as the team shooting 6-8 (83.3%) from the free throw line. The score entering into the half is 41-32 Falcons.

In the third quarter both teams shot 0% from the 3Pt line, niether team able to knock down a shot from beyond the arc. The Blazers had a hard time getting a basket in the third shooting 23.1% from the field and only adding 3 free points from the foul line. 

In the final quarter the Falcons added 17 more points on the board followed by the Blazers with 16. Despite the Blazers late comeback attempt the Falcons had added up enough points to secure a safe lead. in the final quarter the Blazers went 8-11 from the free throw line shooting 72.7% and recorded 12 boards. Both teams finished the final two quarters shooting 0% from the the 3 point line, relying all on FG, inside the paint and foul shot opportunities.

  • Both Talia Uribe (South Hadley, MA) and Rahmia Johnston (Trumbull, CT) went 4-5 from the foul line
