Peguero-Flores Tabbed NEWBA Player of the Week

Chicopee, MA – Elms College women's basketball grad student forward Angelica Peguero-Flores (Springfield, MA) has been named New England Women's Basketball Association Player of the Week.

Peguero-Flores led Elms to a 3-0 week including a pair of conference wins this past week averaging 24.3 points and 13 rebounds while picking up 8 total blocks. The grad student forward poured in 26 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, and 2 blocks in a 79-62 win over Anna Maria.

FROM THE DESK OF COACH PROULX: "Ang had a great week last week averaging 24.3 ppg/13 rpg/ 2.7 bpg leading us to three straight wins. She dominated on both ends all week and really led us into a great finish of the regular season. We are so excited to see what she does next!"

The New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) provides support for coaches from the New England Region. Membership in NEWBA is open to all Division III head coaches from the region who have a vested interest in the welfare of the organization. At the conclusion of each season, the NEWBA sponsors the Senior All-Star Classic. This has become a great tradition and a memorable way for many seniors to finish their collegiate careers.
