Women's Basketball Drops to Raiders

Chicopee, MA – The Elms College women's basketball team dropped their GNAC match up against Rivier University earlier this afternoon, 76-85.

THE BASICS:

SCORE: Elms 52, Rivier 45

RECORDS: Elms (10-8, 7-8 GNAC), Rivier (11-11, 7-8 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Elms quickly jumped out to a six-point lead in the first quarter. The first half would see six lead changes before the Raiders were able to take the lead and sustain it. A big second and third quarters where Rivier scored a combined 49 points helped them reach their largest lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter at 17 points.

Elms did, however, cut into the deficit by outscoring the Raiders in the fourth 21-18. Angelica Peguero-Flores had a great game for the Blazers, scoring 28 points and hauling in eight rebounds.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Angelica Peguero-Flores held her own for the night with a total of 28 points on 8 rebounds and 4 assists.
• McKenzie Huria walked away with 14 points.
• Rahmia Johnston followed right behind with 13 points on the night.
