Blazers Take Down Trailblazers

Chicopee MA - The Elms College women's basketball team snagged another non-conference win last night in Picknelly Arena against MCLA, 71-37.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Elms College women's basketball team placed three players in double figures as they rolled past the MCLA Trailblazers 71-37 last night in non-league action. Elms improves to 2-0 on their season.

Elms jumped out to a 19-12 lead after one quarter of play and eventually would hold a 40-25 edge at halftime. The Blazers blew the game open using a 19-7 third quarter to pull away.  Elms held MCLA to just 12 points over the final two periods.

Rahmia Johnston led all scorers with 18 points. She pulled down 7 rebounds on the night. Waleska Kelly added a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds while McKenzie Huria chipped in with 13 points.

Elms shot 42% from the floor.  They caused 15 Trailblazer turnovers.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Aiyanalee Lopez had 10 rebounds
• Waleska Kelly registered a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds
• Rahmia Johnston had 18 points and 2 steals

The Blazers will hit the road to non-conference opponent Salem State University on Saturday 11/13 at 1PM.
