Softball Drops Double Header Against Falcons

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College Softball team were bested by the Albertus Magnus Falcons on Thursday April 13th. Blazers fell 16-0 in game one followed by 15-2 final for game two.

BASICS

Records: Falcons (12-14, 4-2) | Blazers (1-15, 0-4)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jayden Dow (Springfield, MA) started in the circle for the Blazers, she continued to pitch for the first 2 and a half innings. Elms would rotate arms in the pitching lanes with Ceara Wright for an inning and Kyla Cook (Taunton, MA) finishing the ame with 1 and a third inning.

Left fielder Nicole Defeo (Watertown, CT) made a base appearance after being walked in the bottom of the fourth, she would advance to second on a sacrafice bunt from Arielli Bellavista (Springfield, MA).

The Albertus Magnus Falcons went three back to back innings recording four or more runs to grow their lead over the Blazers. 

A. Savinelli recorded a no hitter against the Blazers with one walk and two strikeouts.

 

Elms would fall 16-0 to the Albertus Falcons in game one on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Katie Cosmos (Wolcott, CT) led with 2 hits for the Blazers in the second game, including a double that she cranked out to the gap between right and center field. 

Both Defeo and Sarah Fortini (Florida, MA)would record RBI's in the second game against the Falcons, for a two run inning in the bottom of the second.

The Falcons had a big at bat in the top of the second recoridng a 10 run inning, recording 4 hits.

Sarah Fortini would step into the pitching lanes to relive Cook for 2 and a third inning giving up 2 runs and 1 hit, in the fourth the Blazers would record a 1-2-3 inning to end Fortini's time in the circle. Ceara Wright would finish the final inning holding the Falcons to zero hits and zero runs to end the fifth inning.

The Blazers fell in the second game 15-2, to end their Thursday afternoon Conference double header 0-2.

The Softball team will head to Lasell for another conference double header on Saturday, April 15th at 12:00PM and 2:00PM.
