Johnson and Cammarata Both Snag Home Runs In Double-Header
PAXTON, MA. – The Elms College softball team drops their conference doubleheader Thursday against Anna Maria College 3-5 and 7-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1: AMC 5, Elms 3
The Blazers completed the first game with zero errors. During the first inning, Josie Cammarata (Wolcutt, CT) smashed a home run to left-center field putting the Blazers in the lead 1-0. Anna Maria fired back at the bottom of the to tie up the game. After a scoreless second inning Nicole DeFeo (Watertown, CT) reached first on an error by Anna Maria's shortstop allowing Kelsey Bennett (Chicopee, MA) to reach home base.
The Blazers were up by one going into the 6th inning when Brandi Johnson (Philmont, NY) smacked another home run to extend the Blazer's lead.
Jayden Dow (Springfield, MA) was on the rubber for the Blazers striking out three.
During the bottom of the sixth inning, Anna Maria fired back to take the lead. Elms fought hard but were not able to close the gap.
Game 2: AMC 8, Elms 7
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Johnson and Cammarata both hit a home run in the first game.
- Cammarata, Johnson, and DeFeo racked up an RBI in the first game.
- Courtney Schwark (Kinston, NY) and Bennett notched one stolen base in game one.
- Roussis, Dow, Schwark, and Bennett each notched RBIs in the second game.
- DeFeo and Roussis both stole bases.
