Blazers Swept by Simmons
BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Elms College softball team gets swept by their conference doubleheader Sunday against Simmons University 0-13 and 0-12.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1: Simmons 13, Elms 0 (5 innings)
A single by Ryanne Fournier (Longmeadow, Mass.) in the third inning was the only hit for the Blazers in the opening game while Alli Alleano (Vernon, CT), Josie Cammarata (Wolcutt, CT), and Sarah Fortini (Florida, MA) all reached on base with walks.
Jayden Dow (Springfield, MA) took the loss for the Blazers. The pitcher went three innings, allowing ten runs on six hits and striking out one.
Fournier finished 1-for-2 on the day to lead the Blazers.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Fournier managed to get a hit in the first game.
- Alleano, Cammarata and Fortini all reached on base with walks in game one.
- Alleano smashed a triple to right field in the third inning during the second game.
-Alleano and Oliveira both had one hit to lead Elms during the second game.
UP NEXT:
- The Blazers will be hosting a nonconference doubleheader against Westfield State University at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM on Wednesday 4/6.
