8 Kills From Perry in Conference Match Against Saints

BOSTON, MA - The Elms College Men's Volleyball team were bested by the Emmanuel College Saints in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match on Thursday afternoon.

How it Happened

For the night Senior middle blocker, Moose Perry (Holyoke, MA)  terminated the ball on multiple occasions during the match registering 8 kills, leading for the Blazers. Lewis Torres (Cidra, PR) went 1 for 1 with hitting, registering one kill and dished out 21 assists against the Saints. Senior libero Collin Liedke (Newington, CT) held another leading game with 6 digs for the Blazers, followed by Jairam Rodriguez who also managed 5 digs in Thursday nights contest.

In the final set the Blazers carried the lead of 11-9 early in the set. Before Elms could gain a larger gap ahead of the Saints they tied the score at 11's and once again at 12's. Quickly the Saints were able to capitalize off of a 5-0 point run, grabbing the final match point. 

Saints' T. Guest registered 12 kills in the match, while R. Fabrizio add 35 assists to the leaderboard for Emmanuel College.

The Blazers had many success during their conference match on Thursday, but were unable to out play the Emmanuel Saints. The Blazers fell in three sets with scores of 25-14, 25-15 with a final set of 25-16.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Collin Liedke attained 4 kills and 6 digs with a hitting percentage of .333
  • Moose Perry was on top of the leader board with 8 kills for the night
  • Lewis Torres handed out 21 assists for the Blazers.
