Gulls Hold Off Blazers, 3-0

BEVERLY, MA - The Elms Men's Volleyball Team fell in three sets to the non conference Endicott College Gulls on Wednesday night in the MacDonald Gymnasium.

How it Happened

The Gulls serged for an early lead in the first set leaving the Blazers to trail by eight points (16-8). Elms men were able to add a couple more points to the board but would fall by ten points in the first set granting Endicott the first point of the match (25-15).

In the second set the Blazers sketched up the first 2 points. Decpite getting the early jump the Gulls were quick to make their come back and the Lightning would have it tied up at 3's. Elms kept it a tight battle for the first couple rallies, with the score 10-9. The Gulls pulled away on a 5-1 run jumping the score to 15-10. The Blazers able to sneak in a kill from Cecil Villa (Springfield, MA), interrupting the Gulls run. The Blazers would fall 25-14 in the second set, boosting the Gulls to 2 points in the match.

For the final set the Blazers were able to chalk up 17 points against the Gulls, but were unable to limit the Endicott Men. Falling in the final set 25-17 finishing out the non conference match 3-0 to the Endicott College Gulls.
