Blazers Gain First Victory of the Season at RSC

ALBANY, NY- The Elms College Men's Volleyball team heads home with a non conference victory over the Russell Sage College Gators after a 3-1 battle.

How it Happened

A first year Setter/ Right Side hitter for the Elms College Men's Volleyball team, Jairam Rodriguez (Cidra, PR) recorded a double double with 10 kills and 10 digs against the Russell Sage College Gators, his first double double of the season. Lewis Torres (Vega Baja, PR) a Setter for the Blazer finsihed the match with the highest kill percentage of .333, his personal best for the season. Torres also finished the match handing out 29 assists helping the Blazers serge for match victory.

Senior Moose (Ryan) Perry (Holyoke, MA) also added 10 kills in the match against the Gators and registered 3 blocks, leading the Blazers in that stat for the non conference contest.

For the Gators Elijah Tortorici was able to hammar down 16 kills in the match, with teammate Ryan Jennings who handed out 28 assist.

  • Lewis Torres finished the match with 29 assists
  • Perry and Rodriguez both finished with 10 kills apiece
