Pride Takedown Blazers In Three

CHICOPEE, MA - The Men put up a fight against the top rank DIII team, Springfield College on Tuesday night where they fell 0-3 in Picknelly Arena.

How it Happened

Within the first set the Blazers were able to put up 12 points agains the Pride, tying up the score three times within the first set and causing two lead changes. Jairam Rodriguez (Cidra, PR) filled the stat sheet in the first set recorded 3 digs, 2 kills and 5 receptions to start off the match. Springfield was able to smack down 13 kills within the first set helping them serge to a set one victory with the final score 12-25.

In the second set the Lightning were able to capitalize on errors made by the Pride keeping the score close. Towards the final set serves the Blazers were able to close in on the Pride trailing only by 3 points, 22-19. Decpite there continuous battle with the Pride they came up short, 22-25 in the second set. Springfield leading the match 0-2 heading into the third.

Just like the first set the Pride were able to pull away with the lead knocking down 10 kills in the final set, the Blazer able to sneak 4 kills from there end. Unable to controll the pace of play the Blazers ended the match falling in the final set 12-25 to the Pride.
