Mercado Selected to GNAC All-Conference 2nd Team
Chicopee, MA – Elms College men's volleyball senior Carlos Mercado (Barranquitas, P.R.) has been selected the Great Northeast Athletic Conference 2nd Team.
The senior setter led the Blazers in kills (313) which was good enough for third in the conference. Mercado was third on the Blazers in assists (218) and second in service aces (47) during the 2021-2022 season.
FROM THE DEASK OF COACH HOWDESHELL:
"Carlos was willing to play any position we needed him in this year and played every position except libero at some point this season. He was third in the conference for total kills and third in aces per set and had two matches with 20+ kills. Carlos stepped into his role as an on-court leader and pushed everyone to match his intensity and energy. A deserved end to a strong season and a great career".
