Blazers Finish Season in Semi-final Loss to Wentworth

BOSTON, MA – Elms men's volleyball lost their semi-final match to the No. 1 seeded Wentworth 0-3.

SCORES: Elms 0 – Wentworth (20-25, 14-25, 13-25)

RECORDS: Elms (15-15, 10-6 GNAC) Wentworth (27-4, 15-1 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

The first set saw the Blazers trailing by 3 early before a kill by Antonio Delgado Rolon and a Leopard error put the Blazers within one at 15-16. Trailing 16-21 on a pair of errors, Elms went into a timeout before scoring back-to-back kills. Elms dropped the set 20-25 on a WIT kill. The second set saw the Blazers trailing by 6 early at 4-10. Despite a late pair of kills from Pedro De Jesus and Carlos Mercado, the Blazers dropped the set 14-25. The third set was close as a De Jesus kill put the Blazers within 1 at 5-6. Wentworth pushed their lead to 8 at 7-15 and despite some late kills by the Blazers, the early deficit was too much to overcome. The Blazers dropped the set 13-25 and the match 0-3. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Mercado led the Blazers with 10 kills with Luis Martinez and De Jesus adding 7 each. 

Antonio Delgado Rolon led the Blazers to a .104 hitting percentage with 23 assists and added 3 digs and 1 kill. 

Martinez led the Blazers with 5 digs with Mercado and Collin Liedke adding 3.
