Torres Collects 1000th Kill in Five Set Win over Bison

Dudley, Mass. – Senior Jeremy Torres (Juncos, P.R) .threw down 36 kills and collected 19 digs in Elms College's 3-2 win over Nichols College Friday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action at the Nichols Athletic Center. (22-25, 28,26, 23-25, 28-26, and 15-12)

The home side build a 2-1 match lead with wins in the first (25-22) and third (25-23) sets. After tying the match at one with a 28-26 win in set two, the Blazers (3-1, 3-0 NECC) captured sets four (28-26) and five (15-12) to secure the win.

Sophomore Collin Liedke (Newington, CT) was big for the Blazers with 52 assists and 16 digs in the match.

Torres led all student-athletes with 36 kills (.347 hitting pct.) for the Blazers and picked up his 1000^th kill during the match.

Elms has a quick turnaround when they host The Bison on Saturday at 1pm.
