Men’s Volleyball Tabbed Second in NECC Preseason Poll

Mansfield, MA – Elms College has been selected to finish second in the 2021 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Volleyball Preseason Poll, collecting one first place vote and 13 total points. With the 2021 season being shortened due to COVID-19, the Blazers will only compete against conference opponents.

Sheila Gisbrecht will return to lead the Blazers, and will look to 2020 first team All-NECC performer, and the 2019 NECC Player of the Year, Jeremy Torres (Juncos, P.R.)., to make an impact for the Blazers. Torres led the league with 4.39 kills per set and total kills with 303, and was awarded AVCA All-Region and All-American honors in 2020. The Blazers also return the 2020 NECC Defensive Player of the Year, Antonio Delgado (Aibonito, P.R.) who led the league with 3.14 digs per set.

The NECC Men's Volleyball semifinals will take place on April 7, with the Championship match taking place on April 10.
