Johnson's Strong Performance Leads To NECC Rookie of the Week Honor
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms junior middle hitter Jake Johnson picked up New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week honors on Monday after a dominant performance during the week.
Johnson (Warwick, R.I.) helped lead the Blazers to a come-from-behind victory over Sage, tallying 10 kills on 15 swings, without an error, to hit .667 for the match. He also added four digs, four block assists and two service aces in the 3-2 win.
The Blazers picked up a pair of wins during the week to improve to 7-2 on the season. Elms is on the road for its only match of the week this week, visiting Southern Vermont on Feb. 8 at 7:00 p.m.
