The teams traded points with Crowe, Castro, and sophomore Daniel Bondarovsky (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) recording kills, while MIT junior Sean Kropp (Fairless Hills, Pa.) knocked three straight kills to give the Engineers a 13-12 lead.
