Men's Volleyball Sweeps Day Two at Keuka Tournament

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Elms College men's volleyball team extended their win streak to four games, collecting wins in a pair of contests to close out the 2016 Keuka Tournament. The Blazer battled back against Penn State-Behrend to register a 3-2 win (25-22, 17-25, 17-25, 25-14, 18-16), followed by a three-set sweep (25-22, 25-13, 25-20) of Purchase College. The Blazers improve to 6-2 on the season.

In the five-set thriller with Penn State-Behrend, sophomore Daniel Bondarovsky (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) smashed a career-high 21 kills with four digs, while senior Angel Castro (Carolina, Puerto Rico) tallied a season-high 15 kills with six digs and three blocks. Sophomore Gabriel Reis Levy (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) added 12 kills with a match-high seven digs. Freshman John Dunphy (Farmington, Conn.) racked up a career-high 50 assists with four digs and a match-high three service aces. Junior Austin DeCosmo (Southwick, Mass.) had seven kills with a team-high four blocks in the win.

During the sweep of Purchase, Reis Levy paced the Blazers with nine kills and two blocks. Bondarovsky recorded seven kills with a team-high seven digs and four blocks, while Dunphy dished out 30 assists. Castro notched eight kills and two aces, and DeCosmo registered a career-high six blocks with four digs and two kills.

The Blazers will look to keep the win streak rolling with a non-conference road trip to Mount Ida Thursday night at 6:00 p.m.
