Men's Volleyball Clips Keuka in Four Sets

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Elms College men's volleyball team kicked off their run at the 2016 Keuka College Tournament by collecting a 3-1 (26-24, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22) victory over the host Wolfpack at Weed Gymnasium Friday night. With the win, the Blazers improve to 4-2 on the season, while Keuka opens at 0-1.

The Blazers had a trio of attackers notch double figures in kills, led by senior Angel Castro (Carolina, Puerto Rico) with a team-high 13 kills with three digs. Sophomore Daniel Bondarovsky (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) tallied 11 kills with five digs and two blocks, while fellow sophomore Gabriel Reis Levy (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) added 10 kills, three digs and two blocks. Freshman John Dunphy (Farmington, Conn.) dished out 34 assists with two kills, and junior Austin DeCosmo (Southwick, Mass.) snared a team-high six digs with three kills and two blocks in the win.

Keuka was paced by a match-high 15 kills from senior Connor Hinman (Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada). Hinman added two digs and two blocks, while senior Tom Campbell (Penfield, N.Y.) registered 10 kills with four blocks. Sophomore Aaron Brill (Rachos Palos Verdes, Calif.) totaled nine kills with four digs, while sophomore Chris Corocoran (Big Flats, N.Y.) and junior Spencer Avery (Hamburg, N.Y.) handed out 22 and 20 assists, respectively.

The Blazers will conclude play at the Keuka Tournament with a pair of matches on Saturday at Weed Gymnasium. Elms takes on Penn State-Behrend at 2:00 p.m., followed by a tilt against Purchase College at 4:00 p.m.
