ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College sophomore Daniel Bondarovsky (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) was selected as the first New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for the 2016 season, announced by the league office Monday afternoon. This is the Blazers first Player of the Week award since Bryson Rainey took home his final weekly award of his career in the 2014 season.

Bondarovsky helped power the offensive attack during the Blazers run at the 2016 SUNY-Polytechnic Tournament over the weekend. Daniel racked up 41 kills, 12 blocks and 10 assists across the Blazers' four matches. After eight kills in the Blazers season-opener, Bondarovsky tallied a season-high 13 kills with just one error in 18 attempts, along with two blocks. Daniel added seven kills and four assists in a win over Sage, followed by 13 kills and a career-high seven blocks against SUNY-Poly to close out the tournament.

Bondarovsky and the Blazers will return to the court in Elms' 2016 home opener against City College of New York at Picknelly Arena Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
