Men's Volleyball Falls to Vassar, Springfield at Tri-Match

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Elms College men's volleyball team dropped two games during a tri-match, hosted by Springfield College Saturday afternoon. The Blazers fell to Vassar, 3-0, and then slipped up against host Springfield, 3-0 (25-14, 25-7, 25-18).

In their opening match versus Vassar, freshman Gabriel Reis Levy (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) led the Blazers offense with eight kills, two service aces, and two blocks. Freshman Blake Fry (Natick, Mass.) tallied five kills, while senior Kevin Welsh (Wilbraham, Mass.) dished out a team-high 11 assists with three digs and a solo block.

Against Springfield, the Blazers struggled to find an offensive rhythm. Reis Levy recorded a team-high three kills with three blocks. Welsh doled out four assists, and Conklin snared five digs in the loss.

The Blazers will look to return to the win column when they host Emmanuel College at Picknelly Arena Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
