HOW IT HAPPENED

Albertus Magnus dominated this game from the start. The Falcons put the pressure on the Blazers early, as four quick shots on goalie Colin Liedke put Elms on their heels to defend the net. The Falcons, content to control possession time, went up 1-0 in the 28th minute of the game when Colby Nardelli scored. About five minutes later, Kelvin Cortez scored for the Falcons, putting them up 2-0. Due to the Falcons constant presence in the Elms defensive side of the field, the Blazers were not able to get a shot on the Albertus goal before halftime.

In the second half, the Blazers were more aggressive, but went down 3-0 in the 53rd minute off another Albertus goal. Colin Liedke kept the game at 3-0 with a couple of good saves, but continued to get peppered with shots by the Falcons. It was tough for Elms to establish themselves at the offensive end, due to the Falcons controlling possession time, and aggressiveness on offense. When the game ended, Albertus Magnus had won 3-0.

Inside the Numbers:

Colin Liedke had 8 saves
