Late Goal by Rivier Downs Elms

Nashua, NH – The Elms College Men's Soccer Team dropped their conference game at Rivier University on Tuesday night.

How it Happened

In the first half, offense was a premium. This game was a battle of possession. Rivier had some early shots against Colin Liedke, but were stopped. Elms got some shots of their own on the Rivier net, courtesy of Jacobo Molina Ferrer, but those were stopped too. Some late saves in the first half by Liedke kept the game at 0-0 going into the half. 

At the beginning of the second half, Jimmy Maznicki and Jacobo Molina Ferrer got some more shots on the Rivier net, but were not able to capitalize. Colin Liedke made some good saves towards the end of the half, and this game looked like it was headed for a scoreless tie. However, in the 82nd minute, Chris Antonelli scored for the Raiders, putting them up 1-0. Elms couldn't come up with a shot on the Raiders net, giving Rivier the 1-0 win.
