How it Happened

Fresh off a victory, the Blazers were hoping to get out of the week with two wins, as they traveled to Franklin to play Dean College. Colin Liedke (Newington, CT) was once again an important player for Elms, coming up with four key saves in the first half, as Dean seemed to get closer and closer to scoring each time Liedke was there to deny them. Elms was more active in the offensive side of the field, but failed to get any shots on net until the end of the first half, when Jimmy Maznicki's shot was saved by Deans' goalkeeper. At half, the score was sitting nil-nil.

When the second half began, it was a race for who would score a goal first. Jacobo Molina Ferrer (Valencia, Spain) and Alain Sitchet Njanko (Raleigh, NC) had shots early in the second half, but couldn't put them on net. Musa Jiana (Chicopee, MA) came up close in the 65th minute, but Dean remained strong, keeping the game at 0-0. However, less than two minutes later, the Blazers defense broke down and Jake Richard put Dean College ahead 1-0. Down late, Elms tried to do everyone they could, but failed to score a goal, losing 1-0.
