CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College Men's Soccer teams' Brandyn Costa (Palmer, MA) and Patricio Vidales () recorded each Blazer goal to decide the fate of last nights game on Leary Field over the Colby-Sawyer Chargers.

Score: Blazers 2| Chargers 0

Records: Blazers (1-4-0)(1-2-0) | Chargers (1-4-0) (1-2-0)

How it Happened

The Blazers seemed to double down on the defensive end early, as Colin Liedke made some key saves for Elms in the first half, performing spectacularly in net once again. What seemed to change for the Blazers was their level of aggressiveness, as they seemed to put more purpose into putting more pressure on the Colby-Sawyer's defensive end. This proved true when Brandyn Costa, assisted by Jimmy Maznicki,  scored in the 42nd minute, giving the Blazers the luxury of going into the half with the lead.

The Blazers continued to pound the Chargers net with shots in the second half from Musa Jiana (Chicopee, MA), Jacobo Molina Ferrer (Valencia, Spain), and Alain Njanko (Raleigh, NC). Colby-Sawyer was left to scramble, as they had no answer for the Blazers on the offensive end. The Blazers kept to their strong defensive efforts, continuing to shut Colby-Sawyer out. Elms broke through again in the 70th minute on a goal from Vidales to go up 2-0. In the 81st minute, Colby-Sawyers' Judson DiMaria scored a goal to cut the deficit 2-1, but a late save from Colin Liedke cemented the Blazers win, giving them their first conference and season win of the year.
