Blazers Drop Road Game to Albertus Magnus

New Haven, CT – The Elms Blazers men's soccer team dropped their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) appearance against Albertus Magnus College yesterday evening, 0-1.

THE BASICS:

FINAL SCORE: Albertus Magnus 1 | Elms 0
RECORDS: Albertus Magnus (3-1, 2-0) | Elms (2-4, 1-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Blazers attack spent the majority of the first half holding a 7-5 edge in shot attempts.

Over the first 20 minutes of the half, Elms outshot the Falcons, 3-1. The host's lone shot attempt came three minutes in behind a shot attempt from AMC's, Stagnaro. Following the attempt, the tides slowly began to shift in favor of Albertus as the hosts rallied off three straight shot attempts. However, two of the Falcons' three attempts were unable to find the back of the net against the Blazer keeper, Collin Liedke (Newington, CT).

With the half winding down, Elms retaliated in short order with a pair of their own shots, but neither were able to slip past and preserved the 0-0 tie heading into the break.

Albertus and Elms opened the second stanza trading shots as both teams' offenses turned up the dial, putting the keepers to work.

With 14 minutes remaining in regulation, Albertus was able to find the back of the net and take the one-goal lead.
