Dean Gets Past Men's Lacrosse in Divisional Action

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College Men's Lacrosse team traveled to play Dean College in conference action Wednesday afternoon.

BASICS
Score: Elms College 6 | Dean College 15
Records: Blazers 5-7, 3-5 (GNAC) | Bulldogs  9-4, 5-3 (GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Elms started off the game strongly, as junior Devin Murphy (Walden, NY) and first-year Jesse Hagen (Cold Spring, NY) both scored a goal each for the Blazers. Murphy's would be his first career goal. Even with two early goals, Elms found themselves playing more defense than offense, as Dean continuously fired shots on the Elms net. Dean responded with four goals, but first-year Luciano Jordan Canino (Dalton, MA) scored two of his own to tie the game at four. Still undeterred, Dean scored two more goals to end the period up two. In the second, sophomore Tosh Marshall (Sylvan Lake, AB, Canada) assisted on junior Matthew Salerno's (Campbell Hall, NY) goal that brought the Blazers within one, giving them some momentum. Dean would score nine straight goals over the combination of two quarters, putting the game out of reach for the Blazers. Marshall scored a late goal for Elms, but Dean countered that goal with one of their own, taking a convincing 15-6 win over the Blazers.
