Men's Lacrosse Lose to Blue Jays at Home

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College Men's Lacrosse team hosted the University of Saint Joseph (CT) in conference action on Saturday afternoon at Leary Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Saint Joseph would score the opening goal, but Elms would score moments later by first-year Jesse Hagen (Cold Spring, NY) to tie the game. The Blue Jays would close out the quarter with two goals and then score five-straight goals to open the second quarter. First-year Miah Rondon would score the Blazers second goal before three more goals by USJ then first-year Luciano Jordan Canino (Dalton, MA) would find an open sophomore Connor Tobin (Northampton, MA) for a goal to cut the lead down to 3-11, but the Blue Jays would score two more goals to close out the first half.

The third quarter would see four goals by Saint Joseph, but the Elms offense would show life after goals by first-year Nicky Miltenberger (Ridge, NY) and Canino. Then in the fourth quarter, the Blazers would score four goals by Hagen and first-year Ethan Menard (West Springfield, MA), but the Blue Jays would add three more goals and win the game 9-20.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • First-year Casey Dmochowski (Rutland, MA) would record 26 saves in the contest.

  • Canino, Hagen, and Menard would each add three points to their season totals.

  • Miltenberger would go 14-22 on faceoffs during the game with 10 ground balls and a goal.
