Men's Lacrosse Snaps Win Streak with a Road Loss to Emmanuel

BOSTON, MA - The Elms College Men's Lacrosse team traveled to Emmanuel College in conference action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Emmanuel would begin the contest with an early 0-2 lead, scoring back-to-back goals, but Elms would cut their lead after sophomore Tosh Marshall (Sylvan Lake, AB, Canada) found an open first-year Luciano Jordan Canino (Dalton, MA) for the Blazers first goal. The Saints would then score an additional two goals to go ahead 1-4 to close out the first quarter. The second quarter would begin with the with a goal by Canino and then would be followed by a goal by first-year Miah Rondon (assisted by first-year Nicky Miltenberger (Ridge, NY)) to bring the score to 3-4. The Saints would score another two goals, followed by a goal by Marshall (assisted by Miltenberger), but Emmanuel would score two more goals to close out the half with a score of 4-8.

The Saints would come out of the gate scoring three straight goals, but the Blazers would respond with a goal by Rondon (assisted by Canino). Emmanuel would score two goals to close out the quarter. The fourth quarter would again see the Saints add two straight goals, extending their to 5-15, but Elms would score two more goals after Canino would find an open junior Matthew Salerno (Campbell Hall, NY) and Marshall scoring his second goal of the game. Unfortunately, those efforts would not be enough as Emmanuel would win by a final score of 7-17.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • First-year Casey Dmochowski (Rutland, MA) would record 18 saves in the contest.

UP NEXT: The Elms College Men's Lacrosse team will host Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday, April 10th in a conference matchup at 7 PM.
