HOW IT HAPPENED

Elms would go on the board first after a goal from sophomore Tosh Marshall (Sylvan Lake, AB, Canada). Moments later, the Blazers would add to their lead with a goal from sophomore Connor Tobin (Northampton, MA) and was followed by another goal by first-year Luciano Jordan Canino (Dalton, MA) after receiving a quick pass from first-year Nicky Miltenberger (Ridge, NY). The second quarter would start with a goal by Salem State to cut the Elms lead 3-1. The Blazers would respond shortly after with a second goal by Tobin. The Vikings would then go on to score two more goals, but Tobin would go on to score his third goal of the evening bringing the score to 5-3. But Salem State would score before the halftime break, bringing the Vikings to within a point of the Elms 5-4 lead.

Towards the beginning of the second half, first-year Miah Rondon would score to help the Blazers increase their lead. Unfortunately, Salem State would score back-to-back to tie the game at 6-6. But Elms would quickly respond with three goals of their own by Canino (assisted by Marshall), Marshall (assisted by Miltenberger), and Miltenberger. The Vikings would score minutes later, but Canio and Tobin would both add goals to take the Blazer lead to 11-7. Tobin would start the final quarter with his fifth and final goal of the evening. Salem State would score shortly later, but Canino would score his fourth and final goal of the night, followed by a goal from junior Matthew Salerno (Campbell Hall, NY).
