Men's Lacrosse Out Swam by Dolphins

THE BRONX, NY - The Elms College Men's Lacrosse team traveled to the College of Mount Saint Vincent in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first quarter would see the two opposing sides contest for possession, but Mount Saint Vincent would hold the majority of the offensive momentum throughout the game. However Elms first year goaltender Casey Dmochowski (Rutland, MA) would hold off the Dolphins efforts, recording three saves in that time, until the final four minutes of the opening quarter when MSV scored the only goal of the quarter. The Dolphins would carry the energy generated by that late goal into the second quarter, scoring an early goal to extend their lead to 2-0. But as the quarter moved along, sophomore Connor Tobin (Northampton, MA) would find an open first year Miah Rondon to score the Blazers opening goal of the contest. But moments later, Mount Saint Vincent would respond with a third goal to head into halftime with a 3-1 lead over Elms.

As the second half began, the Dolphins would score two goals to extend their lead 5-1, but first year Luciano Jordan Canino (Dalton, MA) would score for the Blazers and would be assisted by first year Nicky Miltenberger (Ridge, NY). But MSV would take over the remainder of the third quarter with three more goals in their favor. Tobin would open the fourth quarter with a quick goal to narrow the Dolphin lead to 3-8, but Mount Saint Vincent would respond with two goals of their own. Then shortly after, the Blazers would score three unassisted goals from Miltenberger, Canino, and Rondon to bring the game to within four goals. The Dolphins would score again, then Miltenberger would score his second goal, but MSV would bury the final goal to defeat the Blazers 12-7 for their third-consecutive loss.
