Fitzgibbons Takes First in Albertus Invite

NEW HAVEN, CT - Blazers Golf competed in the Albertus Magnus Invitational on Wednesday afternoon where the team placed third and Liam Fitzgibbons (Pittsfield, MA) shot a 79 to take first place.

Senior Liam Fitzgibbons came to the invite with clean drives and crisp putting to secure the first place spot after the round of 18 at the New Haven Country Club. The golfer from Pittsfield, MA shot a 40 on the front followed by a 39 on the back to total up a score of 79, just 9 over par of the course. 

Miguel Pearce (Guilford, CT) had another outstanding round as well on Wednesday with an overall score of 82. The sophomore shot a 38 on the front along with one other golfer in the invitational, finishing out the round with a 44 to land himself T4 in the invite.

Declan Flynn (Hingham, MA) shot a 95, Austin Scott (Chicopee, MA) totaled up a 93 and Connor Tobin (Northampton, MA) scored a 96, all finding themselves within the mix of totals for the invite.

The Blazers Golf team will compete in the 2 day GNAC Championship on October 9th and 10th back at the New Haven Country Club.
