Blazers Tee Off at Bill Detrick Invitational

Berlin, CT - The Elms College golf team teed off this weekend at Timberlin Golf Club in Berlin, CT for the annual Bill Detrick Invitational, hosted by Trinity College.

Round one saw Blazers Mike Keefe (Milford, MA) with the lead, after a Saturday 74 (+2). Keefe made birdies on holes 10 and 12 to get himself to one over, however a bogey at 14 would bring him back to two over, still good for a one shot lead. John Vandal (Chicopee, MA) birdied the Par-5 sixth hole, and came in with a 93 day one. Liam Fitzgibbons (Pittsfield, MA) had a birdie on the Par-4 third, but would struggle coming in and finish with a 95. Matt Delude (Holyoke, MA) would finish with a 107.

Round two saw the Blazers playing through wet and rainy conditions all day. Keefe started out round two with birdies on holes seven, and eleven, and finished with a respectful 83. Fitzgibbons shot 92, while Delude would shoot his best round yet, coming in with 95. Vandal finished with a 100.

Keefe finished T-11, while Elms finished in 10th place for the event.

The Blazers continue their season April 15th where they tee off for the Rhode Island Spring Invitational.
