Worcester, MA - The Elms College Men's Basketball Team dropped a non-conference matchup at Division 1 the College of Holy Cross on Thursday night.

How it happened:
Coming out of the break, Elms took on Holy Cross for their first game. The Blazers kept the score close early, but the Crusaders hit a couple of three pointers to extend the lead. Tahquell Cadle and Teron Griffin hit a couple of early baskets for the Blazers to cut the deficit to 3 early. Holy Cross attacked the rim hard, resulting in open shot attempts. The Crusaders started to extend their lead against the Blazers, but Elms fought hard late in the first half. Tightening up on defense, the Crusaders limited the Blazers scoring opportunities, resulting in Elms falling behind by double digits. Late in the first half, Holy Cross attained a 20 point lead before half, taking control of the game.
Elms got a couple of quick baskets early in the second half from Neilon Bridgeman, RJ Mayfield, and Tahquell Cadle, but the deficit was too much. Holy Cross continued to score with ease on offense and stifled the Blazers on the defensive end. Elms continued to fight throughout the second half, but came up short against the Crusaders 88-60.
