HOW IT HAPPENED

At home for the first time this season, the Blazers took on the Curry College Colonels. RJ Mayfield was more aggressive early, scoring 7 of the Blazers first 9 points. The Blazers played with more purpose on the offensive end, but were unable to pull away early.Curry eventually jumped out with a 20-15 lead halfway through the first half. The Colonels executed their offense to perfection as they slowed the pace of the game down, and made the Blazers defend for the whole shot clock. The Blazers had trouble executing their offense again midway through the half, going on a mini scoring drought, as Curry extended their lead to nine. A late three by Jake Midura closed the deficit to seven, as the Blazers went into halftime down 33-26.

At the beginning of the second half, the Blazers scored a handful of baskets courtesy of Tahquell Cadle, RJ Mayfield, Jake Midura, and Teron Griffin, but were unable to close the deficit. Every time the Blazers went on a run, Curry had an answer. With six minutes left in the game, Elms went on a run of their own. Aaron Sanchez and Michael Chiodo contributed timely baskets and rebounds for the Blazers, closing their deficit to 2. A pair of Cadle free throws and a Chiodo pull-up jumpshot put the Blazers up 56-54. In the ensuing possession, Curry's Nick Johnson hit a running floater while fouled, tying the game. Curry got the rebound off the shot, leaving the Blazers with an opportunity to send the game to overtime with a defensive stop. Curry's Jason Romans would here none of that, as he hit a fadeaway three from the left wing with 0.5 seconds left to give Curry the 59-56 win over the Blazers
