Blazers Grab First GNAC Win of the Season

Chicopee, MA – The Elms College men's basketball team tabbed their first GNAC win in Picknelly Arena late afternoon, 92-69.

THE BASICS:

SCORE: Elms 92, Regis 69

RECORDS: Elms (1-12, 1-7 GNAC), Regis (5-7, 2-4 GNAC) 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Elms went on an 11-0 run to open up the game, the Blazers stood strong on the board with baskets from Jaijuan Macklin, D.J. Edelen, Vashon Wilson, capping it off with Edelen knocking down a three-pointer to force a Regis timeout.

However, after the deficit grew to 17 points at 28-11 with 9:51 remaining in the half, the Pride fought back and cut the scoring gap to just 10 points, ending the half down 44-34.

Elms, led by Edelen, went on another scoring run to effectively put the game out of reach for the Pride. 

Elms shot 30-of-60 (50%), while Regis shot 24-61 (39.3%). Elms was able to force Regis into 11 turnovers.

D.J. Edelen, Justin Feliciano and Roy Mckeithen scored over 20 points, led by Edelen with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Justin Feliciano and Roy Mckeithen each scored 20 points with Feliciano also grabbing eight rebounds. Vashon Wilson contributed seven points and 12 rebounds.
