CHICOPEE, MA - On Saturday morning the Albertus Magnus and the Elms College went head to head as each team was fighting for their first win of the season. The Falcons came on top with a 5-1 victory over the Blazers.

HOW IT HAPPENED

At home, the Blazers were hoping to put up their first win of the season against the Falcons, but the Albertus Field Hockey team had other plans in store. In the 4th minute of the first quarter Paige Sheide put up the Falcons first goal. The Falcons kept their momentum and boosted them to a 2-0 lead over the Blazers heading into the half.

Just five minutes into the third Maddy Gootjes sent two back to back goals into the Blazers cage to lift the Falcons to a 5-0 lead in the conference play. Blazer got their breakthrough when Isabella Perez () bombarded the Falcons goalkeeper in the final minutes, deleting their chance of a shutout. Falcons close the conference game with a final score of 5-1.

As a team the Blazers put up 12 shots against the Falcons with 9 of them on goal.
