How it Happened

At home, the Blazers were looking to beat Dean and earn their first win of the season. Kaitlyn Lynes (South Hadley, MA) played strong in net, saving the first couple of Dean shots to keep the game knotted at 0-0. Bella Petrus had different ideas, scoring two goals within minutes of eachother late in the first period to put the Bulldogs ahead 2-0. In the second quarter, the Blazers scored their first goal of the season. Bonneau cut the deficit at 2-1 for the Blazers, putting them back in the game. Elms and Dean played great defense in the later part of the quarter, but the Bulldogs struck again, going up 3-1 at half.

In the second half, Lynes made impressive saves, including a one verse one diving play to eliminate the Bulldogs any chance of scoring off the fast break in the fourth quarter.  But the Blazers were unable to find the back of the cage, Elms ata stand still with one goal in the game. In the end, Dean came away with the victory 3-1 for the final score.
