How it Happened

Lasell wasted no time making their mark on the game, less than two minutes in, Lily Stark scored for the first goal for Lasell. Blazers goalie Kaitlyn Lynes played admirably in the net, saving the next couple of shots that came her way, hoping she would get some support offensively. However, in the next five minutes, Lasell scored four more goals to put them up 5-0 before the end of the first quarter. At the beginning of the second quarter, Kaitlyn Volk was subbed in for Lynes, and saved her first two shots on net. A couple minutes later, Lily Stark scored again for the Lasers, bringing their lead to 6-0. For the rest of the half, the Blazers did all they could just to prevent another goal by Lasell to give themselves a shot in the second half.

The second half wasn't much different from the start. Lasell scored two early goals, including one being an own goal by the Elms defense. Jacquelyn Scopa scored the tenth goal for Lasell, putting the Blazers in a large deficit late. Even though they were up by a wide margin, Lasell did not take their pedal off the gas, as they scored two goals late in the fourth quarter to win 12-0, Great offense led the way for Lasell, and their defense left the Blazers without a shot on goal all night.
