Dudley, MA – The Elms Blazers field hockey team dropped their non-conference appearance against Nichols College yesterday evening, 0-4.

THE BASICS:

SCORE: Elms 0 | Nichols 4
RECORDS: Elms (1-3-0, 1-1-0 GNAC)

FROM THE DESK OF COACH LAPAR:

"Our Nichols game is a heartbreaker, because it is one you want to immediately play again. Despite going down a player in the first quarter, and down another player for a time later in the game, we battled and had many attacking opportunities. Defenders: Sam Bonneau, Cierra Brundage, and Ellie Serra, really put the pressure on the Nichols attack and stepped up to 50/50 balls that they were winning. Katie Jones, Carissa Ramirez, Snejana Lashtur, Lizzy Collins, and Ellie Serra in the midfield had really great moments of connecting, passing patterns, showing second efforts between the 25s and support for the attack. We also cannot deny our handful of breakaways leading to scoring opportunities from Melanie WardKatie Jones, Carissa Ramirez, and Victoria Accorsi. Goalkeeper, Nora Newman, also made 10 saves on the night. The little adjustments we have talked about as a team are improving, now it is time to find the back of the net more consistently."
