Bio

Edward P. Silva was the head coach of the Elms College men’s basketball program from 2001-2012.  Ed sits as the program’s all-time winningest coach with a career record of 206-103 (.666) and captured seven straight conference championships across the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) and New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) from 2004-2011.

In his fourth season at the helm, Silva claimed the first of four straight North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championships as he guided the Blazers to a 20-9 record, the program’s first 20-win season and the program’s first appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship tournament.  He posted a 42-16 record over the next two seasons as the Blazers pushed their championship run to three straight.  In 2007-08, Silva orchestrated the Blazers deepest run in the postseason, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship tournament after registering an overall mark of 23-7.

In his first season in the New England Collegiate Conference, Silva set the program record for wins in a season, guiding the Blazers to a 26-2 record, including a perfect 14-0 run in conference play.  Silva and his team claimed the first of three consecutive NECC Championships (2009, 2010, 2011) and their fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship tournament.
