Jackson Earns GNAC Rookie of the Week for the Third Week

CHICOPEE, MA - Kayla Jackson a forward from Saugus, MA made her third time debut as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week after her performance during the week of January 30th through to February 5th.

During the week the Blazers matched up against the Lasell University Lasers on Tuesday, January 31st in Picknelly Arena where they were able to secure the conference win over the Lasers, 79-66. Jackson went on to record a double double that night with 14 points, 20 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. 

The first year carried her success from the paint into the Blazers game on Thursday, February 2nd against the USJ Blue Jays. Even though the Blazers came up short in the conference match, Jackson was able to put up 14 points and record 10 rebounds.

To end the week the first year crashed the boards against the Dean College Bulldogs attaining 13 rebounds and went on the score 16 points. The forward also dished out 5 assists along with her own success on the court and snatched 1 steal.

Jackson ended the week averaging 14.7 points, 14.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists in a 2-1 week for the Blazers, in which the rookie double-doubled in each contest.

The Blazers host Conference team Johnson & Wales on Wednesday February 8th at 6PM. The Elms Women will also be honoring their seniors against the Wildcats
