Jackson Selected as GNAC Rookie of the Week and NEWBA Rookie of the Week

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College Women's Basketball team's Kayla Jackson, a first year from Saugus, MA has been selected for both the Great Northeast Athletic Conference and the New England Women's Basketball Association Rookie of the Week Nomination.

In the first week of the 2022-23 season the Elms College Women's Basketball team has a 2-0 record, winning both games against the Salem State University Vikings (75-69) and the MCLA Trailblazers (68-58). 

Against the Vikings Jackson recorded 19 rebounds, ten defensive and nine offensive boards. The first year also crashed the boards with 16 points and dished out 2 assists. Jackson started for the Blazers and played for 36 minutes.

Over the weekend against the Trailblazers Jackson managed to recover 16 rebounds, ten defensive and six offensive baords. She also caused some trouble in the paint and from the free throw line going 4-4 hitting 100%, the first year attained 18 points and handed out 2 assists.
