Cross Country Races At Connecticut College Invitational

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Elms College men's and women's cross country teams completed their final tune-up before the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship, racing at the Connecticut College Invitational Saturday at Harkness Park.

The women's team was paced by senior Sarah Tatgenhorst (Winterport, Maine) with a time of 27:14 in the 6K event. Freshman Tyana Medina (Springfield, Mass.) delivered a time of 29:31, while classmate Keara Moulton (Ashburnham, Mass.) was right behind her with a time of 29:34. Freshman Julia Trezza (Wilbraham, Mass.) posted a time of 29:49, and sophomore Emily Guillerault (East Granby, Mass.) rounded out the Elms squad with a time of 30:43.

On the men's side, sophomore Rich Hernandez (North Branford, Conn.) registered a team-low time of 32:33 in the 8K race. Freshman Robert Culhane (Hampden, Mass.) finished with a time of 35:14, while classmate Brendan Curley (Chicopee, Mass.) notched a time of 36:49.

The Blazers will return to action for the 2017 NECC Cross Country Championship, held at Stanley Park in Westfield on October 28th.
