Albany, NY – The Elms College women's volleyball team lost both matches on Friday at the Sage College Invitational. The Blazers would drop the opening match to Oneonta State 3-1 (25-23, 18-25, 22-25, 12-25), and would lose the second to Skidmore College 3-1 (25-15, 25-19, 25-22).
Elms 1, Oneonta 3
The Blazers would get off to a great start, taking the first set 25-23 only to see Oneonta come back and win three straight sets and take the match 3-1.
Elms would have eight different players register a kill in the match. Alanys Cruz (Humacao, P.R.) would lead the way with 13 and Natalia Caraballo (Arlington, TX) would pitch in with 12. Dakota Stewart (Victoria, TX) had a match high 25 assists, Jaylianna Ramos (Toa Alta, P.R.) would lead the Blazers in digs with 13, Hanna Adams (Deerfield, MA) would pitch in with 10 kills.
Elms 0, Skidmore 3
The Blazers would have a tough time with Skidmore in their second match, falling to the Thoroughbreds 3-0.
Elms would see nine different players pick up a kill in the match, with Caraballo and Hannah Pichardo ( South Glen Falls, NY) getting six and five kills respectively. Stewart would lead the way again with 14 assists. Lozada would be big for the Blazers with 23 digs.
