11 Elms Swimmers Earn GNAC Academic All-Conference

WINTRHOP, Mass. – Eleven members of the Elms College men’s and women’s swim teams are among the 1,008 student-athletes to earn 2017-18 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference recognition, as announced by longtime GNAC Commissioner Joe Walsh on Thursday afternoon.

Paul Ferraro (Walpole, Mass.), Michael Grippo (Longmeadow, Mass.), Joshua Guntly (Chicopee, Mass.), Rich Hernandez (North Branford, Conn.), Alyssa Barnes (Pittsfield, Mass), Molly Gagnon (Hamden, Mass.), Jacqueline Given (Arlington, Mass.), Julianne Gordon (Plaistow, N.H.), Amanda Rotberg (Rowley, Mass.), Kelly Scianna (Milford, Conn.) and Meredith Townsley (Bernardston, Mass.) earned the honor from Elms.

In order to be eligible for the league’s academic all-conference squad, a student-athlete must have a 3.25 cumulative grade point average and have reached second-year academic status.
