Cavar Captures GNAC Rookie of the Week Honor

WINTRHOP, Mass. – Elms College women’s swimmer Cricket Cavar was recognized as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Corvias Women’s Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week the league announced on Monday.

Cavar took first in the women’s 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:56.46 at the University of New England over the weekend. She also joined teammates Julianne Gordon, Aislinn Carrier and Brittany North to finish the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:55.74, less than a second behind UNE’s top-finishing team.

The meet was the final regular-season competition of the season for Elms. The NEISDA Championships will be Feb. 15-18 at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I.
