Big Second Half Pushes Hawks Past Blazers

Big Second Half Pushes Hawks Past Blazers

Leicester, MA – The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team was in action on Tuesday night at Becker College in a big NECC game. The Blazers couldn't keep up with a second half surge from the Hawks and fell 16-3.

The first half saw both teams struggle to get it going offensively and would only produce five combined goals. Haley Richard (Monson, MA) and Vanessa Vurno (Salem, CT) would get the only markers of the opening frame, and the Blazers would trail 3-2 at the half.

The second half started out with the Hawks taking a commanding lead after scoring seven straight goals. Elms would get one back when Elese Ciarcia (Glastonbury, CT) put in her first goal of the game. That would be as close as the Blazers would get. Becker would answer with another scoring spree, putting in six straight goals and taking the game 16-3.

Emily Huber (Jefferson, ME) came up with 13 saves in loss.

Elms will host New England College on Saturday at 1pm in another huge NECC game.
