Blazers Handle Mountaineers

Chicopee, MA – The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team hosted the Southern Vermont Mountaineers on Wednesday night in NECC action.

The Blazers came out on fire and scored the first six goals of the game. Haley Richard (Monson, MA) and Vanessa Vurno (Salem, CT) would put in three each. Richard would finish the game with six goals, four ground balls, and eight draw controls.

SVC would put in their first goal of the game at the 6:18 mark of the frame, only to see the Blazers come right back with three markers of their own and take a 9-1 lead into the half.

The Mountaineers would tally the first goal of the second half and pick up another to cut the Blazers lead to 10-3. Elms would go on another run and finish of the game with seven straight goals and take the conference win 17-3.

Erienne Dowe (Somers, CT) was big in the game, scoring two goals, three ground balls, and two draw controls.

Emily Huber (Jefferson, ME) would only need to make three saves in the win for the Blazers.

Elms are off until Tuesday when they travel to Becker College at 4 p.m. for a conference game.
